A leading medical device organisation is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Area Sales Manager to support the continued growth of its orthopaedics portfolio, with a particular focus on joint replacement solutions.

Operating in a highly specialised and competitive segment, the company offers a suite of innovative, clinically proven products that are improving surgical outcomes and patient recovery across hospitals in Germany and beyond. With a strong commitment to compliance, ethical standards, and customer service, the business is recognised for its high-quality solutions and long-standing partnerships with healthcare professionals.

This is a 100% field-based role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable leading commercial strategy, and enjoys working closely with surgeons, KOLs, and distribution networks.

Your role

Your role as Area Sales Manager - Orthopaedics

Responsibilities
  • Leading sales and business development efforts for the joint replacement product range
  • Developing and executing territory-specific sales strategies based on customer insights and market data
  • Building strong relationships with surgeons, hospital stakeholders, and key opinion leaders (KOLs)
  • Delivering hands-on technical support, education, and training to ensure optimal use of products in clinical settings
  • Identifying, managing, and growing distributor and agent networks to achieve sales targets
  • Monitoring competitor activity and emerging trends to inform commercial decisions
  • Supporting scientific engagement initiatives in partnership with KOLs
  • Ensuring all activities align with internal compliance policies and relevant healthcare regulations
  • Collaborating with internal teams to resolve customer challenges and deliver best-in-class service
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the territory, and occasionally further afield when required
Experience and qualifications
  • This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong commercial mindset and proven expertise in orthopaedics or joint replacement.
  • 3-8 years' experience in orthopaedic sales or related medical device sectors
  • Background in business, nursing, life sciences, or a related field (MBA is a plus)
  • Solid track record in sales, territory management, and relationship-building

  • Confident communicator, fluent in the local language, with good English skills
  • Experience supporting clinical teams with product training and demonstrations
