A therapy center for children in Kamloops is seeking a part-time staff member to work in a School Based Program. Responsibilities include managing individual well-being and facilitating therapy goals. Candidates must have a relevant post-secondary certificate and experience in child development. This role requires physical engagement and swimming skills, as well as the ability to drive and transport individuals. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.
The Chris Rose Therapy Centre for Autism is in Kamloops, British Columbia, and offers a School Based Program working with children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We are looking for an individual or individuals to join our staff in a part-time capacity.
This position involves working 4-5 days per week from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Those hours can extend as late as 5:00 PM once an extended client has been found. This position is a minimum of 26 hours. There is a guarantee of four shifts per week, and we operate from Monday through Friday. The exact schedule would be determined upon hire.
School-Based Program: With the help of parents, caregivers, and the child\'s home school, we work to empower the individuals we serve to achieve their social, emotional, academic and vocational goals. Each child will have an individual Therapeutic Goal Plan, and our staff works with the child on their therapy goals. Academic support is provided by the child\'s home school as we are not an academic organization. Children may have safety and self-care plans, which our staff follow. This is not a teaching position or a desk job.
Extended Program: This is an individualized program created to match the child / youth\'s developmental level and learning strengths and areas of concerns, and the child works one-on-one with one of our staff 1-2 hours per week, days decided on with the family. This is a community-based program.

This is not a teaching position or a desk job our staff works directly with the individuals we serve, so this is a physical position not an administrative position. We will train the successful applicant in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training for the purposes of working with the Centre, and we will also cover the cost of the Criminal Records check for vulnerable youth / adults. The successful applicant is responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate first aid training upon hiring.
