The Website Development and Engagement Officer will develop and manage the overall design, strategic implementation, development, deployment, and maintenance of MSF Canada’s website stack. This role supports the marketing objectives of Communications, Fundraising, Humanitarian Affairs, and Human Resources recruitment, aiming to improve engagement with diverse audiences.
The Officer will be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration, with opportunities to expand skills across digital marketing areas such as SEO, UX, revenue generation, and brand-building. Success will be measured by user engagement metrics, site health, and stakeholder satisfaction.
MSF Canada is looking for someone responsible for:
- Strategy: Collaborate on digital engagement strategy and planning with the manager to optimize site experience and improve conversions supporting departmental objectives (Fundraising, Recruitment, Communications). Manage website change requests from departments like Fundraising, International Recruitment, Humanitarian Affairs. Skills required include WordPress management, HTML, JS, GitHub, and intermediate CSS. Provide advice on outgoing web assets regarding SEO, accessibility, UX, and site experience. Support web analytics reporting using GA4, GTM, and monitoring tools.
- Website development and management: Manage MSF Canada websites (DoctorsWithoutBorders.ca, Dispatches, Impact Report) on WordPress in English and French, ensuring performance, accessibility (WCAG 2.0, AODA), security, and usability. Develop and maintain custom themes and plugins. Enhance website impact through mobile responsiveness, A/B testing, and effective messaging. Design and author web pages and interactive features like alerts, Gutenberg blocks, and API integrations.
The successful candidate will bring:
- A degree in computer science, digital communications, website management, or relevant experience.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Experience managing bilingual (English/French) websites is a significant asset.
- 3-5 years’ experience in full-stack WordPress development, design, content management, data measurement, and server administration.
- Proven experience in creating user-centric web experiences for non-profit supporters.
- Intermediate knowledge of multimedia tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
- Experience with enterprise project management tools like Asana, Monday.com, Jira.
- Growth mindset, motivated to learn and innovate.
