Job Summary

The UX Designer III – Design Researcher plays a vital role in delivering human-centered, evidence-based insights to shape digital experiences. As part of the Human Centered Design (HCD) team within Digital Channels, this role focuses on enabling data-driven design decisions across customer and employee digital touchpoints in banking, investing, and insurance. Working within a collaborative team of 5–6 members, the Design Researcher will oversee and execute user research projects—primarily supporting Insurance—to enhance usability, accessibility, and overall user experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with experience strategists, designers, and business stakeholders to define and support research needs.
  • Design and execute research strategies, including defining research questions, methods, and participant recruitment plans.
  • Develop participant screeners and research protocols; recruit internal or external study participants.
  • Conduct user research using qualitative and quantitative methods such as interviews, diary studies, usability testing, ethnographic observation, and card sorting.
  • Analyze findings using human factors and statistical methods to generate actionable insights.
  • Communicate research outcomes through clear, compelling reports and visual deliverables such as personas, experience maps, and usability reports.
  • Ensure evidence-based insights drive design and strategy decisions across teams.
  • Support multiple concurrent research studies while maintaining high-quality results and timely delivery.
Required Experience
  • 5–7 years of experience in UX design research, human factors, or user-centered design roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Engineering, Human Factors, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in design research and usability evaluation.
  • Strong written, oral, and graphical communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple studies simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Graduate degree in a related field.
  • Financial industry (FI) experience.
  • Familiarity with inferential statistics and statistical analysis tools such as R, SAS, or SPSS.
