Job description
Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin Law School seeks an established teacher and scholar to serve as the Sheldon Lubar Chair in Law. Candidates should be tenured professors with a distinguished record of excellence in scholarship, teaching, and service. Once hired, faculty members are evaluated and advancement is determined by contributions in teaching, research, and service to the Law School, the university, and the profession. Candidates must meet criteria for a tenured faculty appointment at UW-Madison.


Responsibilities:

Conduct research and teach classes in one or more of the following areas: bankruptcy; business law, including but not limited to antitrust, banking or corporate law; constitutional law; civil procedure; democracy and freedom of speech; energy law; environmental law; immigration law; law and leadership; empirical legal studies; law and economics; law and religion; legislation and regulation; privacy law; property law; technology law; torts; and/or United States legal history. Engage in service of the type expected of faculty members.

Qualifications:

The Law School aims to recruit outstanding faculty who, in addition to their demonstrated excellence and/or strong potential in research and teaching, have demonstrated the ability and commitment to mentor at-risk, first-generation, and/or underrepresented undergraduate or graduate students to help them achieve academic success.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
