A regional health authority in Canada requires a registered nurse to provide direct nursing care to patients and residents, ensuring compliance with established standards. The role demands effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Candidates should hold registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, and up to two years of relevant experience is preferred. Specialty certifications may be required depending on unit assignments.
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reports to the Nurse Manager, Department Head, or designate. Plans and provides direct nursing care to patients/residents in the hospital or in the community in accordance with the unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and the BC College of Nurses and Midwives Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia.
Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant. Up to two (2) years recent, related experience depending on clinical setting.
