Job summary

A community-focused organization in Northwestern Ontario is seeking an ICCP Caseworker to provide case and file management while facilitating intervention services for youth and families. The ideal candidate has a background in social justice services and demonstrates strong knowledge of Indigenous culture. Proficiency in communication and file management is essential. The role requires flexibility in hours and a valid Ontario driver's license. Competitive salary of $60,000 per annum with a deadline for applications on February 13, 2026.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years work in a social or justice services environment.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture and experience working with Indigenous persons.
  • Ability to articulate criminal and social justice issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide case and file management services.
  • Facilitate circles and intervention services for youth and adults.
  • Ensure successful completion of Healing & Wellness Plans.

Job description

The Indigenous Community Council Program (ICCP) Caseworker is responsible for providing case and file management by facilitating circles, including intervention services to youth, their families, and adults. The focus of services is to encourage accused persons to accept responsibility for their criminal behaviour and to be accountable for their conduct by becoming active in rectifying the wrong they have caused. The ICCP Caseworker is further responsible for administration and ensuring successful completion of Healing & Wellness Plans.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Preferred postsecondary diploma/degree or equivalent in Social Justice Services and/or minimum of three (3) years work in social or justice services environment.
  • Knowledge of the judicial system, Criminal Code, and other related federal and provincial statutes. Knowledge of sentencing principles, alternative measures and restorative justice principles.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture and experience working with Indigenous persons; understanding of the northern cultural environment; knowledge of an Indigenous language(s) will be considered an asset
  • Experience in Restorative Justice and Conflict Resolution is an asset
  • Experience in program delivery and administration
  • Group facilitation, team building and decision making skills; ability to problem solve and take initiative
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a team oriented setting
  • Ability to articulate criminal and social justice issues and proven ability to work within a trauma-informed and culturally competence-informed lens
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including database applications
  • Excellent case and file management skills, stress and time management skills, ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to engage people to build trust and rapport; effective verbal and listening communication skills; excellent interviewing, counselling, recording and data collection skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and/or weekends
  • Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • A clear criminal reference check (CPIC) and Vulnerable Sector Clearance is a condition of the employment offer
