Job Summary
The University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine s Division of Rural Continuing Professional Development (UBC RCPD) strives to meet the continuing education and professional learning needs of practicing physicians in rural and remote BC. The UBC CPD Coordinator is a key member of the UBC RCPD education team. As such the incumbent contributes their creativity project coordination and relationship building skills as well as their educational expertise to growing the education and innovation capacity of RCPD.
This position is responsible for contributing to the research development coordination evaluation and implementation of custom educational programs and courses in the Ultrasound Education portfolio within the RCPD Program. The individual manages the delivery of programs / courses in both online and in-person formats for physicians and other health professionals in British Columbia. The individual also works to ensure that all levels of coordination of multiple on-going community-based rural CPD programs are implemented effectively successfully within budget utilizing a variety of computer organizational and prioritization skills and tools.
This position reports to the UBC RCPD Senior Manager and works closely with other members of the UBC CPD and UBC RCPD team.
Work Performed
The incumbent will be required to show judgment and decision making which has the potential to impact UBC CPD reputation product viability project funding and the opportunity for future research development.
Exercising poor judgment and / or inappropriate lack of consultation has the potential to adversely affect the viability and validity of research projects educational programs projects grant-based funding or other means necessary to sustain itself.
The incumbent receives ongoing guidance and support from the UBC RCPD Senior Manager and works under the general direction of the UBC CPD Director. Works with a high level of independence and is responsible for task planning and prioritization. Meets monthly with senior staff to review performance and portfolio. At a project level receives strategic direction from project medical leads some of whom may work remotely. This position requires working effectively within a relatively flat organizational structure with a significant degree of self-direction. Works with considerable autonomy on projects within portfolio.
Responsible for the supervision of program coordinator program assistant research staff / assistant temporary staff or technical staff. This includes regular performance reviews and performance management of primary program support person.
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of four years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
