A leading tech consulting firm in Toronto is seeking an experienced Automation Testing Specialist to enhance digital banking applications through automated testing frameworks. The candidate will collaborate closely with a team on microservices, utilizing tools like Java, Postman, and various testing frameworks. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is preferred, along with extensive experience in automation testing. This opportunity offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment and contribute significantly to innovative projects.
Contract Duration: Oct 1st to 03/31/2026 - 5 months. Possibility of extension & conversion to FTE. Number of Positions: 1. Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week. Reason: New project.
Business group: Client Engineering – Microservices – team is responsible to work on microservices for mobile and web digital banking applications. Project: Instant Banking Access – it is related to product onboarding (how new and existing customers can onboard products digitally).
Not only will this candidate gain experience at a Big 5 bank, but they will be working daily with some of the most disruptive and emerging technologies, making real impact at the bank and its deliverables. The candidate will be part of a collaborative software engineering team working on Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, NoSQL, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes.
Bachelors or equivalent in computer science or related field is preferred
Ideal candidate has all the must have requirements and 2/3 nice to haves; someone who has initiative, wouldn’t be waiting for instructions to proceed; a contributor self-starter type. Not only manual testing, strong need for expertise in automation.
1 round – 1 hour MS Teams video interview – HM + other team members – technical interview, basic Java problem solving. Need to share screen; 1 question towards end of interview.
ASAP – off on some Mondays and Fridays.
