Join our Native Healing Centre team as a:

Cultural Support Worker

Native Healing Centre - Health Services

25 hrs a week (flexible schedule) $30-32/hr

You are knowledgeable and experienced in cultural protocols and Indigenous cultural practices. You will play a critical role, alongside the Cultural Advisor, in providing guidance on cultural practices, values and sensitivities to enhance the effectiveness of our projects and initiatives. You will work closely with diverse teams, clients, stakeholders and communities to ensure cultural competence and respect in all organizational activities.

• Certificate and/or degree in cultural studies.
• Living and lived experience of Indigenous cultural practices a must.
• Experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of advising on cultural matters.
• Experience working with Indigenous communities.
• Experience in trauma informed counselling and crisis intervention.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• A thorough appreciation, awareness, working experience and sensitivity of Indigenous history and culture, as well as a thorough understanding of the complexities of working with diverse populations.
• Oral and written communication skills, computer literacy.
• Ability to adhere to the ethic and boundaries requirements.
• Knowledge of Indigenous lead approaches to mental health, Trauma Informed Practice, and Indigenous teachings, practices and protocols.
• Criminal Record Check is a requirement.
