Education: College/CEGEP. Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Tasks: Administer medications. Conduct specimen collection. Ensure infection control. Observe and record medication's therapeutic and side effects . Take vital signs. Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families. Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures. Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination. CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Immunization records. Tuberculosis test. Vulnerable sector check. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Health benefits: Dental plan. Health care plan.
