A health care provider in the Niagara Region is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide evidence-based nursing care within community settings. The role involves managing care, educating clients, and executing nursing plans tailored to individual needs. Ideal candidates must be a licensed RN, possess strong assessment and communication skills, and be adaptable to varying work conditions. This position is part-time with evening and weekend shifts, requiring flexibility and responsiveness to client needs.
Employment Status: Permanent, Part‑time (0.6 FTE). Program Name: Shift Nursing. Number of Hours Bi‑Weekly: 45. Work Schedule: Evenings, Nights, Weekends. Union/Bargaining Unit: OPSEU. On Call: No. Existing Vacancy: Yes – we’re currently hiring candidates for an existing vacancy in this position.
The Registered Nurse provides client and family‑centered, evidence‑based nursing care to individuals and families in homes and the community. Care is delivered within the framework of quality & risk management and the standards set by VON, provincial regulatory bodies, and Community Health Nurses of Canada. The RN safely teaches, delegates, and assigns tasks to workers of all categories.
This role requires a detail‑oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling and other movements emphasizing good body mechanics. Individuals must walk, sit, stand and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
