Libertatem Healthcare Group is seeking a Female Complex Care Assistant to support a young child with complex needs in the York area. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide consistency, comfort, and positive experiences, with full training and ongoing support provided.

Main duties of the job

The Complex Care Assistant will be responsible for providing personal and clinical care, including gastrostomy care, medication administration, oral and deep suctioning, chest physiotherapy, non-invasive ventilation, pressure area care, and epilepsy and seizure management. They will also be required to monitor the child's condition, create a safe and nurturing environment, and build positive relationships with the child and family.

Shifts Available

Thursday & Friday (Days): 08:00 – 16:00 • 16:00 – 22:00

Additional Bank Cover: Cover for annual leave and sickness, with potential for additional shifts as required

About the Role You will be supporting a young child who requires full assistance with daily living. He enjoys music, cuddles, storytime, and interactive play. We are looking for someone warm, patient, and nurturing who can build trust and bring reassurance to both the child and his family.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing personal and clinical care, including gastrostomy care and medication administration, including rescue medication
  • Performing oral and deep suctioning as required
  • Supporting chest physiotherapy and use of Cough Assist automatic devices
  • Assisting with non‑invasive ventilation (NIV) in line with care plans
  • Delivering high‑quality pressure area care and monitoring skin integrity
  • Supporting and responding to epilepsy and seizure management, including emergency protocols
  • Monitoring the child’s condition and escalating concerns appropriately
  • Creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment
  • Building positive, professional relationships with the child and family
  • Following individualised care plans, clinical guidance, and risk assessments
