This role includes paid travel to and from the site as well as housing accommodations, but employees are responsible for providing their own food/meals.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Coordination with other project stakeholders in the review and approval of all required site access submittal documentation for Canada work programs and tours.
  • Conduct and take minutes for a daily contractor coordination meeting.
  • Facilitate safe and timely access to site for visitors, 3rd parties, etc.
  • Assist in creating a web-based Site Access process/tools for subcontractors and for visitors.
  • Ensure proposed work sites are pre-inspected for readiness, identified hazards are mitigated prior to the commencement of work, and that necessary permits have been obtained.
  • Working with the H&S Manager to ensure site orientations have been conducted and that a kickoff meeting takes place prior to the commencement of work.
  • Coordinate work scope activities with appropriate stakeholders where there is potential overlap of work activities and potential synergies.
  • Provide managerial oversight for all Canada sponsored 3rd party work programs and other external parties granted access to site.
  • Diligently support the communication of hazards to all personnel on site.
  • Working with MCM Health & Safety and Environment teams, audit the outputs of 3rd parties against committed deliverables identified in submittal documentation.
  • Prior to demobilization, audit work areas for completeness and ensure any identified issues are addressed in a timely fashion.
  • Plan and coordinate with internal Parsons resources where their support may be required to assist 3rd parties in support of their work.
  • Participate in meetings related to 3rd party work scopes.
  • Ensure all 3rd parties adhere to site access and radio protocols.
  • Support H&S and Enviro with inspections. Perform Northern Mines management inspections of active work sites.
  • Ensures all 3rd party incidents are immediately reported and investigated in a timely fashion.
  • Assist other Parsons departments (H&S, Environment, C&M Frontline Supervisors) with risk management coaching and mentoring of new staff in the field.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • 3+ years’ experience in contractor management and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in open pit mining and/or heavy civil construction.
  • College degree, trade certificate or equivalent experience in related field (business, project management, civil/mining engineering).
  • Experience overseeing northern construction or remediation projects, coordinating diverse contractor activities, and ensuring compliance with industrial health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Proven ability to manage complexity, multitasking, holding people to account, and problem solving, in an industrial and/or civil environment.
  • Strong reading comprehension and professional writing skills.
  • Ability to produce accurate and timely annual and monthly reports.
  • Skills communicating with contractors, the client, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of drilling, excavating and the administration of work permits – ground disturbance, hot work, electrical encroachment, etc.
