About Potash

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP's CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan's history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.

Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for mid-2027. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location

This position will be based in Saskatoon. The associated work schedule will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP. This position will require regular travel to the Jansen Mine Site.

BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a resettlement allowance.

Purpose

Reporting into the Lead Training Deployment, the Specialist Training Deployment, contributes to the governance, planning, development, delivery and maintenance of Asset and operational specific BHP employee training.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Drives business improvement through the measurement of BHP's performance.
  • Designs and delivers training plans, trains and assesses BHP employees and improves training programs to maintain safety, compliance and performance during mining operations.
  • Drives BHP culture and delivers training per BHP values, safe and respectful workplace expectations and with commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Communicates effectively with learners, and supports the learning with insights, reflection and knowledge.
  • Translates corporate objectives into actionable plans, communicating, managing and analysing the implementation of those plans, and reporting back on their progress to facilitate the delivery of our strategy.
  • Designs and implements governance/assurance practices and Management of Change procedures to control value outcomes across BHP.
About You
  • Adult Education Certificate.
  • Passionate about training and development, taking pride in successfully communicating key messages to all levels of the audience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring others, with an aptitude for creating strong relationships across the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience with the development and administration of training and competency programs.
  • Solid understanding of applicable Learning Management Software (BISTrainer, SuccessFactors).
  • Aptitude for delivering instructional experience, both online and instructor-led.
