About the role

We’re hiring a Director - Performance Marketing to take full ownership of paid acquisition at Chexy. That’s across Google, Meta, Reddit, and other platforms we decide on. This is a hands-on, in-platform IC role designed for someone who wants to drive results, not just report on them. You’ll have the runway to test, optimize, and scale campaigns across the full funnel. As our team grows, you may also take the lead on managing performance agencies or contractors. This role is designed for performance-driven marketers who love to learn quickly, execute efficiently, and take full ownership of their channels.

What You’ll Do
  • Own Chexy’s paid acquisition engine across key channels (e.g., Google/YouTube, Meta, TikTok, Apple Search Ads, affiliate/partners—based on where we see signal).
  • Build a performance growth model that connects spend → cohort quality → LTV, payback, and margin, and use it to guide budget allocation.
  • Lead end-to-end campaign strategy and execution: targeting, bidding, landing pages, funnel improvements, creative testing, and audience expansion.
  • Partner closely with Brand/Creative to create a repeatable system for high-performing creative: clear briefs, rapid iteration, modular testing, and learning agendas.
  • Work with Engineering/Product/Data to ensure best-in-class attribution and measurement (pixel/CAPI/server-side events, MMP/CDP integrations, event taxonomy, identity resolution where relevant).
  • Establish an experiment-driven culture: incrementality tests, holdouts, geo tests, lift studies, and a clear view of what’s truly driving growth.
  • Own channel-level forecasting and performance reporting for leadership: weekly insights, monthly planning, and scenario models.
  • Scale responsibly: optimize CAC, improve cohort quality, and drive efficient growth as budgets increase.
  • As we grow, build the team (and/or manage agencies) across channels, creative ops, and growth analytics.
What You Bring
  • 8+ years in performance marketing/growth, with substantial hands-on ownership of paid channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale spend while improving efficiency (CAC/payback) and maintaining cohort quality.
  • Strong command of measurement: attribution, conversion APIs/server-side tracking, funnels, cohorts, and incrementality approaches.
  • Deep comfort with data: you can work in dashboards and are fluent in metrics like LTV, retention curves, contribution margin, and cohort analysis (SQL is a plus).
  • You collaborate tightly with Product/Eng and can translate marketing needs into clean tracking requirements and validation.
  • Strong creative judgment and process: you can run a structured creative testing program without being a designer.
  • Startup mindset: pragmatic, fast, high ownership, and comfortable building from zero.
