Job description

Dr Reddy’s Laboratories is a global healthcare company with revenues of US$3.5bn and a mission to expand in consumer healthcare. Earlier this year, it acquired the rights to Nicotinell, a global leader in the NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapy) category from Haleon. Nicotinell is the second-biggest brand globally (excluding the United States) in the NRT category, with an extensive footprint in over 30 countries spanning Europe, Asia including Japan, and Latin America. It holds the first or second position in 14 of the top 17 global markets, with the lozenge / mini-lozenge format holding top position globally. Nicotinell ranks among the top 15 biggest brands among all OTC brands in Europe (excluding Russia, Italy) and ranks No.32 among all OTC global brands (excluding USA). The current business is €250mn globally and will form the foundation of Dr. Reddy’s future consumer health platform.

About the Role

The Head of Marketing (Canada) will drive all local strategic and operational marketing activities (Brand strategies, DTC / HCP communication, Innovation and commercial programs) to accelerate business growth, together with the country commercial team and Global partners. The Head of Marketing (Canada) will be closely involved in / lead Business Operations to deliver sales and market share targets. He / she will own the development and implementation of the brand plans (new products launch, marketing activities, assets & toolkits) required to deliver against targets. He / she will leverage digital data analytics and accelerate e-commerce activities. He / she will be collaborating with the central team to provide perspective / qualify NPD and strategic BD&L opportunities. He / she will also be responsible for driving excellence in market operational capabilities and coaching a team of marketing talents / collaborating and guiding the Marketing teams at the Distributor side. He / she will also impact the global Consumer Healthcare business via role modeling best-in-class approaches and creating synergistic partnerships with the global team and other markets.

Responsibilities
  • Develop marketing strategies & executable marketing / business plans to drive sales, market shares
  • Master brand marketing fundamentals and digital media strategies / activation
  • Drive campaigns & programs to enhance brand image among target segments (cons, HCP)
  • Identify strategic opportunities to grow brand leadership in core segments and channels
  • Leverage trade and customer marketing to develop effective channel promotional plans, grow e-commerce, and contribute to channel profit improvement
  • Participate actively in P&L management, Brand Planning process, and strategic committees (local / international)
  • Utilize market dynamics and deep consumer understanding to create innovative marketing plans
  • Partner with the global team to identify and qualify new product innovation ideas (for / beyond his market)
  • Identify, recommend, and lead locally relevant BD&L deals
  • Manage activity from concept to launch ensuring excellence in execution
  • Oversee pre-launch and launch activities for new products, indications, and formulations
  • Identify new trade and commercial opportunities, implement with the commercial team
  • Communication: (Consumer, HCP, Digital)
  • Develop and adapt global communication assets for core target groups (Consumers, HCPs, Trade)
  • Develop advanced digital media strategies and plans
  • Supervise data analytics & KPI monitoring, and adjust media strategies accordingly
  • Develop targeted communication programs for HCPs, leveraging global toolkits and PR events
  • Manage insight generation and data analytics to better understand target needs
  • Coordinate marketing research and programs with agency partners
  • Organize and lead the local marketing team, fostering motivation and performance
  • Ensure buy-in of marketing plans across all organizational levels and reflect business needs in marketing strategies
  • Identify training and coaching opportunities to develop marketing talents
Qualifications
  • Minimum education: University degree with a focus on Marketing; MBA preferred
Experience
  • At least 15+ years in senior marketing roles, including 10+ years in Consumer Health (OTC)
  • Experience with marketing to consumers and HCPs, including pharmacy channels
  • Minimum 5 years as a senior marketing leader in a local or multinational company
  • Preferred: International marketing leadership experience in Regional or Global Consumer Health or FMCG companies
Knowledge and Skills
  • Fluent in local language and English
  • Proven strategic thinking with creativity and vision
  • Extensive digital experience (strategy, monitoring, data analytics, e-commerce)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Understanding of OTC regulatory and medical aspects
  • High agility, risk-taking ability, and innovative thinking
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and rely on intuition and rational analysis
  • Externally focused with a focus on adding value to consumers and customers
