About the Role

You will support children and young people aged 10–17 involved with the youth justice system. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will complete assessments, produce reports, and deliver targeted interventions aimed at reducing reoffending and improving outcomes. Confidence in navigating youth justice legislation, courts, and multi‑agency work is essential.

What You Will Do
  • Manage a caseload of young people on statutory court orders or out‑of‑court disposals.
  • Deliver strengths‑based, systemic interventions with young people and their families/carers.
  • Prepare Pre‑Sentence Reports, court assessments, and AssetPlus assessments.
  • Supervise youth justice interventions in line with national standards and legislation.
  • Collaborate with police, social care, education, health professionals, and courts.
  • Promote a Child First, Trauma‑Informed, and Restorative approach.
  • Represent the Youth Offending Team in court and multi‑agency meetings.
  • Maintain accurate case records on the Youth Justice Service database.
  • Support strategic priorities including reducing disproportionality and amplifying the child’s voice.
  • Work across community, home, custody, secure settings, and council environments.
  • Stay current with youth justice legislation, safeguarding policy, and best practice.
  • Participate in duty systems, team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training.
  • Qualified Social Worker, Probation Officer, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Significant experience in Youth Justice.
