You will provide sound advice to managers across Western Canada, helping them manage a wide range of labour relations and human resources issues. You will act as a trusted advisor by providing a proactive, hands-on and valuable HR service to our divisional leadership, while ensuring alignment with TFI International business initiatives. You will be involved in a variety of HR subjects, with the ability to eventually focus on your areas of strength and interest.
Your day-to-day:
- Provide ongoing coaching in the areas of performance management, attendance, discipline, disability claims, compensation, and benefit programs.
- Provide ongoing support on labor relations issues and in the application of administrative and disciplinary actions.
- Advise and assist managers in the application and interpretation of collective agreements.
- Conduct prompt employee/labour relations investigations with management and union where appropriate as they relate to workplace complaints.
- Participate in regional talent reviews, succession planning and retention issues.
- Coordinate exit interview process for salaried employees.
- Support the management of illness or disability of employees related to either occupational or non-occupational absences and support the business with the development of return-to-work plans, accommodation, and injury/illness reporting.
- Lead or participate on various continuous improvement projects.
Your profile:
- 2-4 years of Human Resources experience, with an interest in labour relations.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
- You are not afraid to dig for solutions and solve problems in a timely manner.
- You can juggle several tasks/projects at once and be self-sufficient to achieve your goals.
- You enjoy pleasing people and maintaining good relationships.
- You have a sense of initiative and are motivated to work in a growing company.
- You have the ability to influence and promote new ideas and pragmatic solutions to stakeholders at all levels.
