You will work closely with the HR Business Partner, Project Leadership, and Labour Relations to deliver HR support. You will be the go-to person for employees and managers on the ground, supporting culture, facilitating onboarding, assisting performance management, and helping keep our project running smoothly.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Act as the central HR connection between the joint venture (JV) and partner companies.
  • Support development and execution of project-specific HR plans and policies.
  • Align recruitment, onboarding, compensation, and compliance processes with corporate HR teams.
  • Collaborate on job descriptions, resource planning, and project staffing priorities.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for all site onboarding.
  • Manage preboarding progress, arrival logistics, and training requirements.
  • Provide new hires with site details including travel, accommodations, and safety expectations to ensure a smooth and seamless start.
  • Support progressive discipline for salaried and hourly employees with HRBP and Labour Relations guidance.
  • Assist with investigations, grievances, employment claims, and documentation.
  • Coordinate Labour Management Meetings with unions, site leadership, and LR teams.
  • Act as a key contact for Union Representatives, ensuring proper administration of collective agreements.
  • Support Workday transactions for employee lifecycle changes for salaried and union employees.
  • Partner with Business & Employee Services and Finance departments to troubleshoot payroll issues.
  • Monitor approvals, follow up with managers, and ensure accurate, timely processing of workforce changes.
  • Plan and coordinate team‑building activities, site events, and celebrations.
  • Manage scheduling, communications, catering, materials, and event logistics.
  • Support smooth execution by coordinating equipment, vendors, and onsite resources.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of human resources experience, with preferred consideration for applicants who have worked in on‑site HR roles within joint venture (JV) project environments.
  • College, trade, or technical diploma in Human Resources or related field.
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities, with comfort managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • High professionalism, tact, confidentiality, and diplomacy.
  • Strong customer‑service mindset and a collaborative team approach.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
