The Opportunity!

The Commercial Account Associate assists the Account Executive/Commercial Account Advisor with the preparation of information to be submitted to the Marketing Department and/or the Prospect/Client.

This is a permanent full-time career position based in our Edmonton office.

The duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Interacting with the Account Executive/Commercial Account Advisor to assist in assembling renewal information or making changes to policies throughout the year as received from the Account Executive/Commercial Account Advisor.
2. Tracking expiry lists for the Account Executive/Commercial Account Advisor.
3. Preparing information to be submitted to the Marketers to obtain new quotes, and assembling the information into a presentation format for the prospect/client.
4. Following up on accounts receivable to ensure timely invoicing and payment of premiums.
5. Attending meetings with the Account Executive/Commercial Account Advisor and Commercial Multiline Account Executive on new or renewal business when required.

What you will bring to the role:

• A minimum license level 1 is required; completion of CAIB 1 and 2 is strongly preferred.
• Current knowledge of all aspects of commercial property insurance is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in commercial insurance is a definite asset.
• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office programs and Broker Management Software systems are required.
• Ability to multi-task and interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make necessary decisions to advance the work at hand.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
