The Senior Manager Tax Transfer Pricing Latin America is responsible for ensuring compliance with transfer pricing legislation in Canada and in Latin American jurisdictions. The role develops, implements, and maintains transfer pricing methodologies and documentation in accordance with OECD guidelines.

• Support and implement the bank’s transfer pricing policies to maintain compliance with Canadian legislation and coordinate with similar requirements in other countries, particularly Latin America.
• Identify and minimize tax exposure for cross-border transactions, including transactions between the head office, foreign branches, subsidiaries, and among foreign entities.
• Create, manage, and update transfer pricing documentation.
• Oversee and coordinate local defense binder processes, ensuring that branches and subsidiaries maintain adequate documentation for tax authorities.
• Support transfer pricing processes such as the identification of transactions and services agreements, and coordinate updates with stakeholders.
• Review and advise on intra‑group cross-border agreements to ensure transactions are priced at arm’s length.
• Lead the operational process for the Country‑by‑Country report.
• Coordinate transfer pricing updates with local teams across Latin America.
• Assist in managing CRA audits of non‑arm’s length transactions, providing due diligence on pricing and comparability.
• Liaise with operational management across all business lines to provide transfer pricing advice for various business opportunities and transactions.
• Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the head office, subsidiaries, and branches across all business lines.

• Economist, lawyer or CA with experience in transfer pricing within a corporate multinational tax environment, or equivalent advisory experience.
• Minimum of six years’ experience in a corporate multinational tax environment; a strong transfer pricing background in an advisory role to financial institutions may substitute.
• Knowledge of Scotiabank’s foreign business operations, including branches and subsidiaries, is a definite asset.
• Ability to identify transfer pricing issues, locate market comparables, and implement complex transfer pricing solutions.
• Experience applying control and accounting rules to taxation and related structures.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to non‑technical executives.
• Negotiation and influence skills to ensure operational adoption of proposed changes.
• Working knowledge of the interaction between transfer pricing and international or corporate tax.
• Experience with financing transactions, derivatives, securities lending is an asset.
• Proficiency in Spanish is required.
