Job summary
Eileen Roofing Inc. is seeking a dedicated Health And Safety Officer based in Toronto, Ontario. The role requires overseeing safety protocols, conducting inspections, training staff, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations across job sites. The ideal candidate will possess relevant certifications and significant experience in safety management as well as a commitment to maintaining safe working conditions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in health and safety.
- Valid driver’s license with vehicle supplied by employer.
- First Aid, NCSO, Occupational Health and Safety, and WHMIS certificates are required.
Responsibilities
- Administer staff consultations and grievance procedures.
- Conduct daily operations and manage training strategies.
- Inspect work environments for safety hazards.

Responsibilities
- Administer staff consultation and grievance procedures
- Assign projects to subordinates and staff related to work safety, environmental safety and accident prevention.
- Direct and control daily operations
- Evaluate daily operations
- Motivate staff
- Plan and organize daily operations
- Provide information / training to employers, employees and general public
- Review HR directives to assure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
- Train staff
- Establish and implement policies and procedures
- Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards
- Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses
- Manage training and development strategies
- Oversee the analysis of employee data and information
- Develop and implement health and safety plans
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
- Respond to employee questions and complaints
- Coaching
- Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
- Plan safety programs
- Examine plans, drawings and site layouts
- Ensure compliance to drawings, specifications and building codes
- Inspect existing buildings for structural defects and fire hazards
- Inspect to ensure that safe working conditions are maintained
Education
- Post-secondary education in the field (university or college, construction-related or safety / HR)
Requirements of the position :
- At least 3 years of experience
- Able to work independently
- Experience coordinating and supervising more than 20 people
- Experience in investigating and inspecting work-related accidents on construction sites
- Valid driver’s license (vehicle supplied by the employer)
- First Aid Certificate
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) program
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
