Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, CPB Consolidation Finance this position is responsible for the production of monthly management reporting and analysis as well as the consolidation of the Annual Plan and quarterly Forecasts. The individual will work collaboratively with other Finance Managers in the consolidation team and support the consolidating of Personal Banking, extracting key business drivers to support the analysis and commentary of overall results in a clear, concise manner that will support the decision-making process.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation of Flash, MOR, and other ad hoc requests as required, with a focus on ensuring clear, concise value-add analysis by reviewing for reasonableness, identifying/extracting key business drivers and framing in an overall story.
  • Own FTE Reporting and Forecasting across Canadian Personal Banking. This includes normalizing for geography items and keeping track of approved hires vs actuals and highlighting risk areas.
  • Review and/or prepare as appropriate any ad hoc analysis required to support interpretation and understanding of results.
  • Manage P&L for CPB Top of House cost centers and Head Office Units
  • Continuously improve finance processes, and reporting capabilities to facilitate quick and nimble responses to new requirements and requests from within Finance, Business Units, senior management or the Bank
  • Manage forecast for and actively track any CPB placeholders and load adjustments where necessary
  • Manage EWE FTE forecast, plan and reporting for CPB Finance team
  • Ensure proper controls are in place to maintain the utmost data integrity of CPB financial results, ensuring consistency with segment reporting by fully understanding data flow, finance systems and leveraging enterprise wide reporting tools
  • Support team member's development and delegate as needed to meet this objective.
Job Requirements
  • Self-managed; Exceptional ability to problem solve with ambiguous data / minimal direction
  • Strategic thinker with a strong business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to select, interpret and present financial results with simplistic impactful messages, with minimal wording and complication
  • Completion of University degree in Finance or Accounting. Professional designation (CPA) would be an asset
  • Detail oriented with expertise in documenting processes and working templates
  • A minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position involving both reporting and analysis in a large, highly-matrixed organization
  • Technically savvy with a diverse exposure to enterprise software, reporting systems and custom report building
  • Expert-level understanding of MS Excel, PowerPoint and Hyperion with the ability to build working templates and reports that utilize advanced functions to automate data compilation and reporting functions while maintaining strong controls and data integrity
  • Team player who is comfortable in a fast-paced work environment with an evolving mandate and can work well under pressure
  • Understanding of CPB products would be an asset
  • Ability to coach and provide guidance to other team members.
  • Adaptable to a continuous changing environment.
