Under the direction of the VP, Finance, we're seeking a strategic Manager, Finance to oversee our accounting operations, treasury functions, and financial reporting. This is an opportunity to drive financial excellence while developing a high-performing team in a collaborative credit union environment.

As Manager, Finance, you'll be a designated accounting professional who combines technical expertise with strong leadership abilities. You'll work closely with executive leadership and the board of directors while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

WHAT YOU'LL Do:
Lead and Develop Your Team
  • Mentor and coach finance professionals, building capabilities through training and career development
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Drive Financial Operations
  • Oversee the full accounting cycle including general ledger, AP/AR, and month-end/year-end close
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, and banking relationships
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and dashboards for leadership and board members
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
  • Coordinate external audits and ensure IFRS compliance
Enhance Operational Excellence
  • Design and maintain robust internal control frameworks
  • Identify process improvements and lead automation initiatives
  • Establish KPIs and monitor operational effectiveness
  • Champion new technologies to boost productivity
WHAT YOU BRING:
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
  • 7-10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
  • 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience with external audits, internal controls, and regulatory compliance
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling

THE FINE PRINT:
  • This position is on-site
  • Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
  • Must be bondable and have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
