Role Overview

As a strategic finance leader, you will be at the heart of Bombardier Defense’s growth and transformation. This key role allows you to directly contribute to major projects by supporting strategic decisions and ensuring financial performance in a complex and dynamic environment.

What are your contributions to the team?

Drive strategic initiatives by supporting the Vice-President and leadership team in defense contract negotiations and monthly governance.

  • Review and approve defense contract proposals and business plans to ensure financial viability.
  • Assume business partnership with sales, defense, and contract teams.
  • Oversee month-end activities & financial planning and prepare executive-level financial presentations for management.
  • Lead and manage special projects and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.

Ensure compliance by analyzing accounting treatments, updating best practices, and coordinating audits.

  • Maintain effective internal controls and coordinate external audits.
  • Support and mobilize a team of financial analysts.
How to thrive in this role?
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • You have 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, including employee management.
  • You have a CPA designation or equivalent experience.
  • You have proven ability to influence senior executives and build strong business partnerships.
  • You have the ability to manage strong personalities, rally teams, and support leaders in achieving objectives.
  • You have sharp business acumen and adaptability to a constantly changing environment.
  • You have executive presence and strong communication skills in French and English (bilingual).

  • Defense Financial Management Expertise: Knowledge of defense budgeting, government accounting systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Identify and mitigate risks related to defense contracts and ensure adherence to regulations and audit requirements.
  • Analytical & Critical Thinking: Analyze complex financial data, trends, and costs; provide strategic recommendations for defense projects.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with government agencies, internal teams, and external partners; communicate complex financial information clearly.
  • Project Leadership: Lead financial analysis for investments, support growth initiatives, and manage cross-functional projects.
  • Technological Proficiency: Utilize specialized financial software and tools for defense finance operations.
  • Attention to Detail & Organizational Skills: Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting in defense finance activities.
