Position: Indigenous Weekend Support Staff

Hours : 14 Hours per week (Saturdays and Sundays)

Rate : $21.89 per hour

Location : Multiple Sites Hiring in Toronto

Classification : Unionized, Contract Part-Time

Role Overview:

The Indigenous Weekend Support Staff oversee the Transitional Houses, monitoring and assisting residents according to NCFST policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with daily routines
• Ensure safety and house rules adherence
• Provide support and resources to residents
• Debrief with house mentors and case managers
• Maintain documentation
• Collaborate with departments for quality care
• Assist with meal planning and preparation
• Communicate respectfully with residents and colleagues
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to protocols
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

• Recognized lived experience and understanding of Indigenous worldviews
• Post-secondary diploma in social services or equivalent experience
• Minimum one year in social work, preferably in transitional/group homes
• Knowledge of Indigenous history and culture
• Child Welfare and Vulnerable Sector Checks
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a team and accept feedback
• Commitment to Indigenous values and community
• Understanding of workplace health and safety legislation
