Job description

Requirements

Must have:
  • Post-secondary education in a 3-year IT computer program (evidence of grades and program completion required).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical support role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, domains, and group policies.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 and other desktop applications.
  • Substantial experience with remote access and VPN services.
  • Basic knowledge of network protocols and communication hardware.
  • A valid Ontario drivers license and a dependable vehicle.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 2 and 3 diagnosis and resolution of technical issues related to client hardware and software through various communication methods including telephone, email, remote control, and onsite support when necessary.
  • Carry out installation, configuration, upgrades, and support for desktop hardware and software applications, such as Windows OS, Microsoft 365 (Office, OneDrive, InTune, SharePoint), antivirus software, conferencing tools (Teams, Zoom), CAD applications (AutoCAD, Solidworks), Adobe suite, G Suite applications, and various other desktop applications.
  • Facilitate migrations to Microsoft 365.
  • Work with Active Directory and Azure AD.
  • Follow standard processes and procedures; create documentation as necessary.
  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding process for new users.
  • Utilize our help desk software tool to track and follow up on technical support issues and communicate effectively with clients.
  • Provide after-hours and on-call support on a rotational basis and travel to client locations within Southern Ontario as required.
  • Note that this position involves working a 7am-3pm shift once a week.

This is not an entry-level role, and candidates must be able to work onsite at our facility. The successful applicant will report to the Manager of Technical Support Services and be an integral part of the Technical Support team, responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of our clients infrastructure, software, and systems. This role entails working in a full-time capacity with a 3-month probation period, and a criminal background check is mandatory.
