Position Summary

Are you interested in an opportunity to grow professionally within a positive and progressive culture? Northern Health is seeking a Lead, Accreditation to join our Quality & Innovation department

In accordance with the established vision, mission, values and strategic priorities of the organization, the Lead, Accreditation is responsible for all aspects of planning, coordinating, and organizing key deliverables identified by Northern Health for the goal to achieve accredited status. The Lead provides strong, consistent leadership and focuses on coordinating quality, operational, and service partners to meet Accreditation Standards and Required Organizational Practices (ROPs). The Lead coordinates continuous quality improvement stemming from accreditation activities and ensures that documentation and required reports are completed according to established timelines. The Lead works with stakeholders at all levels across NH to build relationships and knowledge sharing capacity, ensuring that staff are informed of accreditation activities that impact their responsibilities. The Lead maintains current knowledge of new developments, trends, and research in accreditation and collaborates with counterparts in other Health Authorities and organizations to share information and best practices.

Starting salary will be approximately from $88,990 to $111,237 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
  • A Bachelor's degree related to healthcare supported by relevant experience and a combination of knowledge, skills, and the attitude necessary for health systems evaluation and improvement.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in Quality Improvement including three (3) years of progressive management experience or an equivalent of education, training, and experience is preferred.
  • Recent, related experience in the Accreditation Canada Q'Mentum Program is preferred.
  • Experience in project management and managing multiple projects concurrently.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated experience in collecting, analyzing, and evaluating data, information processes, and systems and making recommendations for system improvement.
  • Self-directed with effective organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of the delivery of care in a health setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic, fast-paced, continually changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide individuals toward the vision of the organization while fostering teamwork and commitment to excellence in the provision of care.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify variances and implement strategies that lead to desired outcomes.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate processes and systems and provide support in planning and implementation.
  • Ability to apply the problem-solving process, demonstrating critical thinking, decision-making skills, and systems analysis.
  • Ability to utilize computer programs (Word processing, email, Internet, basic spreadsheets).
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
