Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of short- and long-term maintenance activities across designated FSR segments and site auxiliary roads.
  • Ensure road safety and compliance with provincial legislation, including the Forest and Range Practices Act, FPPR, and Transport Canada Grade Crossing Standards.
  • Serve as the Coordinating Registered Professional (CRP) for BW Gold’s Road Use Permit, in accordance with EGBC and FPBC guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Road Maintenance Plan, including inspection schedules and documentation protocols.
  • Oversee road maintenance contracts and ensure quality control across all road-related activities. FSR and site auxiliary roads.
  • Support the development of new access routes as infrastructure needs evolve.
  • Coordinate with contractors, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient road work.
  • Facilitate cost-sharing agreements with other road users and manage road-related budgets.
  • Liaise with the Ministry of Forests and participate in road user groups and safety committees.
  • Promote Artemis Gold’s values and safety culture across all road operations.
  • Work with various contractors to optimize performance, safe travel, road maintenance, road repairs, signage, transportation logistics, etc.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in forest road construction, maintenance, or infrastructure management.
  • Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with FPBC and/or EGBC.
  • Strong understanding of BC forest road legislation and professional practice guidelines.
  • Proven ability to manage contractors, budgets, and multi-stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Valid BC driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to site.
  • Ability to work independently and lead diverse teams in a dynamic environment.
