A correctional healthcare organization is seeking a Behavioural Health Navigator to support individuals in overcoming addiction in a therapeutic community setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in addictions work, will provide therapeutic interventions, and assist in treatment planning. This full-time role is based in Red Deer with necessary travel to other sites throughout Alberta.
Beccarian Correctional Care is seeking a Behavioural Health Navigator (BHN) to join the Therapeutic Living Unit (TLU) in Fort Saskatchewan. This role is based in Red Deer, with travel to other Alberta sites as required for operational coverage.
At Beccarian Correctional Care, we prioritize individuals' well-being and long-term recovery from addiction through a holistic, person-centered approach. Our evidence-based practices empower and foster hope, promoting personal growth. We collaborate with government officials and stakeholders to develop customized strategies grounded in recovery-oriented care principles. We drive positive change in creating pathways of recovery from addiction. We are currently seeking a BHN to join our team in the TLU. TLUs are unique Therapeutic Communities within correctional settings, providing inmates (members) an opportunity for evidence-based care for substance use disorders. As a BHN, you play a crucial role in supporting the "+community as method" process. Working alongside TLU members, you participate equally in various activities like recreation and chores, emphasizing membership and modeling behavior. All staff actively participate in the community, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
Through sharing personal experiences with members, you create connections while maintaining professional boundaries and employing \"Rational Authority\" in Therapeutic Community language. This collaborative and objective facilitation drives meaningful change for TLU members, making the community the major catalyst for transformation. Join us and be part of building accessible, effective, and person-centered recovery.
Reporting to the TLU Lead, the BHN\'s primary role is to mentor and engage members in groups to address substance misuse and mental health challenges.
This is a fulltime position based in Red Deer, with travel to other Alberta sites as needed for operational coverage. Please send your cover letter and resume by applying to this posting. Thank you for your interest in working with Beccarian Correctional Care; only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
