A prominent educational institution in Metro Vancouver is seeking an experienced Manager, Emergency Planning to lead its Emergency Management Program. The role includes overseeing emergency preparedness and response initiatives, requiring strong leadership and analytical skills. Candidates should have at least five years of relevant experience in a similar environment. This position offers a salary between $92,139 and $135,137 annually.
Band 11 (Minimum- $92,139 , Control Point- $122,852, Maximum- $135,137). Placement within a salary band is typically up to Control Point based on skills, experience and internal equity. May place over Control Point in limited circumstances.
Douglas College is seeking a seasoned strategic and detail-oriented emergency management professional to serve as Manager, Emergency Planning. This role is responsible for leading a comprehensive Emergency Management Program that ensures the safety and resilience of our campus community. The Manager oversees emergency preparedness, response, recovery, risk mitigation, and business continuity planning, while developing policies, procedures, and training—including the Emergency Floor Warden Program. With a strong background in business continuity planning your expertise will directly support the safety and well-being of students, employees, contractors and visitors. Regular hours of work are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The work may involve situations requiring response outside of the normal work day timeframe, and the manager is required to be on call, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in case of emergency. Travel between various Douglas College’s locations will be required.
