A maritime technology company is seeking an Experienced Data Scientist to develop AI-driven models and lead projects. Ideal candidates have a degree in a related field, over 5 years of experience with machine learning algorithms, and are proficient in Python. This role emphasizes collaboration and innovation to enhance maritime safety and efficiency. The position is full-time and based in Brazil.

What will you do?
- Develop and implement a variety of models (e.g., LLM, predictive models, classifiers, time series) on both public and proprietary data
- Lead projects from ideation to production, ensuring solutions are effective in real-world scenarios and monitored for quality over time
- Collaborate with product managers to understand problems and define solutions
- Contribute to the research environment in order to improve the flexibility and quality of delivery
Who are you?
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in implementing machine learning algorithms
- Strong understanding of ML concepts, including deep learning
- Proficient in Python and experienced in bringing ideas to production, including coding, testing, and monitoring
- Excellent communication skills and working fluency in English
- Pragmatic problem solver who knows to choose the most practical solution not the most popular one
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with transformer models and GenAI
- Experience working with geospatial data or time series analysis
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Spark)
- Familiarity with model deployment and experiment tracking tools (e.g., LangFuse/TorchServe)
