Job Summary:
The role of the Sr. Manager Risk and Compliance EU & GM is a key part of the Global Compliance COE Team and wider business integral to the effective implementation, monitoring, and reporting of Xylem's Control Framework. The incumbent will have a key role in improving the effectiveness of the Three Lines of Defence model, performing monitoring and testing, looking at incidents and other risk data, helping the business and controlling leadership to continually improve the delivery of our control processes.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Plan and manage the effective and efficient of Xylem's Sarbanes Oxley program in line with regulatory and regional requirements.
2. Ensure suitable compliance policies & procedures are in place and help embed these across the region.
3. Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert on advice through the region on compliance-related matters. Manage a team of 4 direct reports.
4. Actively monitor risks that exceed the company’s risk appetite/tolerance and collaborate with business units on the adequacy of risk mitigating efforts.
5. Collaborate with the business units and Manager Internal Audit/Data Analytics on the development of key risk indicators and associated monitoring/reporting techniques.
6. Actively partner with regional accounting leaders to implement new controls and improve existing control frameworks.
7. Develop reporting frameworks to help keep business leaders informed on the control environment both at a regional level and EU/GM level.
8. Facilitate Internal SOX & FCPA Audit Assessments to test the effectiveness of the EU/GM Control Environment.
9. Conduct Compliance workshops to elevate the capability and knowledge of EU/GM Accounting/Controlling Functions as well as the business leadership.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor's degree is required in Accounting, Finance, or related focus (e.g., Business Administration/Economics).
2. 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in the field of Risk Assurance, Internal and/or External Audit (Big 4 Preferred).
3. 10 years of experience in SOX Compliance internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and PCAOB standards.
4. 10 years of experience with regulatory frameworks; including information security (e.g., SOX, FCPA, GDPR, CCPA).
5. 5 years of experience with reporting compliance results to leadership through timely and effective report writing.
6. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information.
7. Motivated self-starter and ability to be an inspiring leader.
8. Excellent interpersonal communication skills including ability to translate across various lines of business.
9. Influential leader that can transcend the role beyond the controlling function and impact/improve the business processes.

OTHER SKILLS

1. Experience with GRC tools is preferred.
2. Fluency or knowledge of French preferred.
3. Must be fluent in both writing and spoken English.
4. Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP and OneStream.
5. Excellent communicator capable of being assertive yet also tactful and diplomatic.
6. Be able to motivate staff to achieve results.
7. Act as an inspiring people leader.
8. Customer Service Orientation both internal and external.
