Position Overview Details of the Division and Team :

Structured Trade and Export Finance (“STEF”) specializes in delivering innovative structured finance solutions to help suppliers, buyers and borrowers promote their cross-border trade transactions and manage their finance and risk requirements. Deutsche Bank’s STEF department is a world-class arranger of Structured Trade & Export Finance globally and is a market leader in the MEA region.

STEF’s principal product in the Middle East & African region is Export Credit Agency and Multi-Lateral Agency supported finance. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of the STEF, playing an essential transaction origination and structuration role with taking direct responsibility for developing and maintaining client relationship.

Your key responsibilities :

• Support to the STEF Dubai team in the origination of new business opportunities which may involve the marketing, pricing, structuring and execution of new export finance facilities
• Involved in the identification of new business opportunities and the preparation of pitch documents, presentations to clients and calculating transaction KPIs and all other risk / rewards returns.
• The assessment and management of financial and non financial risk in close-cooperation with control and 2nd functions is another key responsibility. This includes preparation of applications and presentations of transactions to the relevant decision forums such as Deal Councils, Decision Fora and Reputational Risk Committees.
• Once mandates are secured, responsibility for all aspects of transaction execution, including but not limited to negotiations with borrowers and suppliers, managing the credit approval process, and undertaking documentation and legal due diligence with external law firms and drafting the loan documentation.
• Management and monitoring of the transactions with any counterparties such as clients, banking partners and the supplier during the life of the loan.
• Responsible for some assigned buyer markets and key client franchise of STEF business
• Close co-ordination with the global STEF networks and other Deutsche Bank Corporate Bank and Investment Bank business lines as well as relevant infrastructure functions during the origination and execution of new deals.

Your skills and experience :

• A degree from a recognised university, Business / Finance or Law.
• Excellent communication skills in English. Speaking French or Arabic would be a plus to liaise with clients in the region.
• Minimum 3 years related experience, gained within an Export Finance or similar team at a leading commercial or investment bank
• Knowledge of the Middle East & African export finance and financial markets and the wider emerging market landscape would be a distinct advantage
• Business driven approach – willingness and capabilitiy to grow into a client facing role
• Good communications and presentation skills

• Strong analytical and structuring skills, accuracy in output
• Organised, agile and with a good sense of priorities
