Braille Transcription & Accessibility Systems Specialist
Job summary
An education institution in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Braille Operator to convert academic materials into Braille, ensuring accessibility for visually impaired students. This role involves transcribing a variety of printed materials, operating Braille software, and providing support while collaborating with faculty and staff. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Engineering or IT, with experience in Braille transcription and familiarity with assistive technology. A commitment to inclusivity and high-quality work is essential.
Qualifications
- Experience working with Braille transcription or in a related field is essential.
- Experience with individuals with visual impairments, especially in education, is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience required.
Responsibilities
- Transcribe and convert printed materials into Braille.
- Operate Braille translation software and embossers.
- Guide students on effective use of Braille materials.
