Job summary
A leading consultancy firm in Dubai is seeking a skilled Solar Design Engineer to design and optimize solar systems for industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of experience in solar design, strong technical knowledge, and proficiency in design software. You will be responsible for conducting site assessments and preparing detailed engineering drawings. A bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Solar Design Engineer to join our clients team. The role involves designing developing and optimizing solar systems for industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in solar design software strong technical knowledge of renewable energy systems and the ability to deliver cost-effective safe and efficient solar solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design solar systems (on-grid off-grid and hybrid) according to project requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct site assessments shading analysis and feasibility studies.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings layouts and single-line diagrams (SLDs).
- Size modules inverters cables and protection devices to ensure optimal system performance.
- Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) technical proposals and cost estimates.
- Review and approve technical submittals and ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards.
- Work closely with the project team contractors and suppliers to ensure smooth execution.
- Perform energy yield analysis using design software (e.g. Helioscope AutoCAD SketchUp).
- Support project commissioning testing and handover.
- Stay updated with the latest solar technologies regulations and sustainability practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Mechanical Renewable Energy or related engineering field.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in solar design and engineering.
- Proficiency in solar design tools (AutoCAD Helioscope etc.).
- Strong knowledge of international and local electrical codes and safety standards.
- Hands-on experience with grid-connected and hybrid solar systems.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
