Job description

An EPC company in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Piping Engineer with 8–10 years of experience in oil tank farms, pipelines, and related Oil & Gas facilities. The role involves executing piping design from concept to detailed engineering, ensuring compliance with international standards and ADNOC specifications, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate and constructible designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review piping layout drawings, isometric drawings, and material take-offs (MTOs) in accordance with project requirements.
  • Perform piping flexibility and stress analysis using CAESAR II in compliance with ASME B31.3 / B31.4 / B31.8 and relevant international codes.
  • Prepare and review piping specifications, datasheets, and detailed design calculations.
  • Ensure piping design is fully integrated with mechanical, process, civil/structural, and E&I engineering deliverables.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings for piping components, valves, fittings, and specialty items to ensure compliance with project and client specifications.
  • Participate in 3D model reviews (PDMS, E3D, or AutoCAD Plant 3D) to ensure clash-free design and constructability.
  • Coordinate with procurement for technical bid evaluations and provide clarifications during the vendor selection process.
  • Support site teams during installation, hydrotesting, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure designs adhere to ADNOC AGES requirements, applicable HSE standards, and quality control procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8–10 years piping design experience in Oil & Gas EPC projects, preferably including oil tank farms, pipeline systems, and refinery modifications.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASME piping codes, API standards, and ADNOC AGES specifications.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAESAR II, and 3D modelling tools such as PDMS, E3D, or AutoCAD Plant 3D.
  • Experience in both basic and detailed engineering design phases.
  • Good understanding of HSE design considerations and constructability requirements.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills in a multidisciplinary project environment.
