A Savoury Flavourist for our Regional Flavour Creation team to focus on South Asia, Middle East & Africa region, based in our Dubai office in the United Arab Emirates – Your future position?

This exciting role will focus on the Savoury segment for our Taste & Wellbeing business in South Asia, Middle East & Africa. The role will report into the SAMEA Frontline technical head based in Dubai. You will be part of an exclusive global team of very experienced Flavourists in Givaudan and will have the opportunity to further develop your knowledge and expertise alongside colleagues within and outside your team and region.

We are looking for a dynamic and creative professional who can be a good addition to our innovative team and culture. In this position, you will focus on the Savoury Market in SAMEA as well as support the Regional Innovation agenda to:

• Release your creativity to create the Savoury Flavours of the future: Based on both customer requests and market insights, you will create new flavours using the newest flavour technologies, the latest ingredient innovations, market and consumer insights, and a unique pallet of raw materials.
• Provide ideas and innovations so that our customers can continue to make a difference for their consumers around the globe.
• Innovate and collaborate with our Science & Technology teams: Work together with our Science & Technology (S&T) teams to identify the tools S&T develops that will allow us to win more projects in Egypt. Within your innovation mandate, you will work closely with Marketing, Application, and Commercial teams to apply these new tools in your flavour creations for existing and innovative Savoury applications.
• Craft excellent relationships with our customers: Maintain effective relationships with a broad number of partners and stakeholders to gain their trust and respect.
• Execute daily brief‑related tasks and fully manage assigned projects to provide flavours that meet all defined customer needs and manufacturing practices, sample scale‑up, production requirements.
• Lead customer visits for flavour creation and product presentations when required.
• Be a technical expert and leader: Resolve flavour production issues, address customer complaints, and take complete ownership of created flavours. Coach, train, and mentor flavour assistants, flavourists, and application technologists as required.

Your professional profile includes:

• At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry or a related field.
• Minimum 7‑10 years of relevant experience as a Flavourist after completing your trainee programme, preferably within a flavour house. Prior experience focusing on Africa or the Middle East region is advantageous.
• Excellent creation experience for Savoury and ability to manage briefs independently. Knowledge of additional flavour categories is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Strong oral and written proficiency in English. Knowledge of additional languages such as Arabic is an advantage, but not essential.
• Solid knowledge of raw materials and flavour ingredients, formulation, modifications and adjustments, solvent and carrier systems, delivery systems, analytical methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to experiment with innovative tools in flavour creation, build robust trials plans, and communicate outcomes to the Flavour Creation & Application community.
• Expert tasting skills and ability to create and adjust flavour formulations that meet customer taste requirements.
• Excellent presentation skills and strong communication & interpersonal skills.
• Able to direct and motivate project teams.
