Job description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support the finance department with day-to-day accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Assist in recording daily financial transactions.
  • Update ledgers, journals, and other accounting records.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all entries.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Process supplier invoices and customer payments.
  • Reconcile accounts to ensure payments are accurate and on time.
  • Follow up on outstanding balances and manage payment schedules.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between bank and company records.
Monthly & Annual Reporting
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Expense Management
  • Review employee expenses and validate all supporting documents.
  • Ensure expenses follow company policies and accounting standards.
Audit & General Support
  • Assist in gathering documents for internal and external audits.
  • Help with budgeting and forecasting tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial data at all times.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, ERP).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills (Optional)
  • Previous internship or experience in an accounting role.
  • Understanding of tax procedures and financial regulations.
