A Night Auditor ensures the hotel maintains professional financial standards by managing end-of-day reports, ensuring accuracy, and reporting anomalies.
What will I be doing
As a Night Auditor, your responsibilities include maintaining financial standards through managing end-of-day reports, verifying transactions, and ensuring accuracy. Specific duties include:
- Reviewing Night Auditor's Logbook for instructions from the Income Auditor
- Verifying approvals for complimentary rooms, late checkouts, and day-use room charges
- Printing and supporting business call journals with authorization vouchers for long-distance calls and faxes
- Verifying guest ledger charges with concessionaires
- Checking room rate variance reports and posting room and tax charges
- Printing revenue reports and splitting service charges and taxes
- Reconciling reports with supporting vouchers
- Exporting POS revenue data and performing pre-audit backups
- Maintaining daily revenue reports and ensuring financial standards
- Reviewing end-of-day takings against logged reports and investigating discrepancies
- Training night staff on systems and procedures
- Assisting the Night Manager during emergencies
