Job summary

A leading consultancy firm in Dubai is seeking a Deputy MLRO to support the Head of Compliance by implementing the compliance program and managing AML/CFT activities. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of experience in Compliance/AML/Risk functions, strong proficiency in MS Excel, and relevant professional certifications such as CAMS or ICA. This role demands exceptional attention to detail and effective communication skills, ensuring the organization meets all regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of compliance.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in Compliance/AML/Risk function with a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of Digital Assets is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Compliance in implementing the compliance program.
  • Maintain an effective AML/CFT communication and training program.
  • Review client due diligence documentation as per the AML/CFT policy.
  • Respond to inquiries from regulators or authorities.
  • Monitor the performance of the AML/CFT program continuously.

Job description

As a Deputy MLRO the incumbent would be responsible for discharging the duties and responsibilities of the Head of Compliance in their absence. The position qualifies as an approved position and would require CBB approval before the official appointment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • SupporttheHeadofCompliance in implementing the boardapproved compliance program ensuring that the Company complies with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Maintainaneffective AML/CFT communication program for the organization including an effective compliance training program for all relevant employees and senior management.
  • SupporttheHeadofCompliance in conducting internal compliance monitoring.
  • Reviewclient due diligence documentation and approve the records as per the companys AML/CFT policy & procedures.
  • Responsible for the timely response to inquiries from regulators or other authorities.
  • Monitortheperformance of the AML/CFT program and related activities continuously taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.
  • Maintainknowledge and updates of industry standards and international regulatory requirements and highlight to management any concerns of noncompliance or improvements that need revision.
  • Ensureall relevant staff are effectively trained on AML/CFT and their respective responsibilities and identify any additional training needs as required.
  • Responsible for receiving and addressing all Compliance and AML/CFTrelated queries including STRs and getting them reviewed by the MLRO for further analysis and reporting to the authorities as required.
  • Assist the Head of Compliance and MLRO in preparing annual reports on Compliancerelated matters including AML/CFT presentations and Compliance MIS to the Senior Management and Board of Directors.
  • Ensureall staff in the Compliance Department are being developed and trained appropriately.
  • Assist the Head of Compliance and MLRO with other compliancerelated activities as required.
  • Handleanyotheradhoc assignments delegated by the Head of Compliance from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • 2to3yearsofexperience in Compliance/AML/ Risk function with a financial institution in Bahrain.
  • Wellversed with MS Excel & associated analytical tools
  • Ability to focus on details and strong work ethic.
  • Professional Certifications CAMS or ICA Advanced Certification or Diploma or equivalent certifications are a must.
  • KnowledgeofDigital Assets is preferred.
