Job summary
A forward-thinking tech company based in Dubai is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to enhance its backend systems. You will work on building backend features, improving structure and performance, and guiding other developers. - Build backend features using Node.js / NestJS with clean, scalable patterns
- Improve backend structure, modularity, and data flows
- Implement API endpoints and business logic with clarity and maintainability
- Review code and guide engineers toward better patterns
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and AI teams to design efficient solutions
- Identify small improvements that increase developer velocity
- Strengthen error handling, validation, and domain clarity across the backend
- Help the team avoid new tech debt while delivering fast
- Strong experience with NestJS
- Deep understanding of backend architecture patterns:
- Modular monolith
- Service + repository layering
- Dependency injection
- DTOs & validation
- Solid experience designing reliable, high-quality APIs
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and code-organization skills
- Ability to guide other developers and establish patterns
- Experience with PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
- Experience improving backend performance or resolving bottlenecks
- Experience in event-driven or modular architectures
- Experience in AI-powered products (Claude, Cursor, Copilot)
