Multi-Skilled Technician (Technical Multi)

Working Hours 12 hours (1hour break)

6 Days week

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly versatile and experienced Multi-Skilled Technician to join our facilities maintenance team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks across various disciplines, including electrical, HVAC (basic), plumbing, and general civil works. This role requires a hands-on individual with strong problem-solving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to efficiently address diverse maintenance requirements in commercial, residential, or industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical Maintenance:
• Perform troubleshooting and repair of basic electrical faults, including power outages, lighting fixtures, switches, sockets, and minor circuit issues.
• Install, inspect, and maintain electrical fittings and fixtures.
• Conduct basic checks on distribution boards and circuit breakers.
• HVAC (Basic) Maintenance:
• Carry out routine checks and minor maintenance on HVAC systems (e.g., split units, FCUs), including cleaning air filters, checking condensate drains, and monitoring thermostat functionality.
• Assist in identifying basic HVAC issues like unusual noises or poor cooling/heating.
• Plumbing Maintenance:
• Perform repairs on leaky pipes, faucets, toilets, and water heaters.
• Unblock clogged drains and perform general plumbing fixture installations or replacements.
• Inspect and maintain water supply and drainage systems.
• General Civil & Building Maintenance:
• Execute minor carpentry works, including door repairs, lock replacements, furniture assembly, and fixture installations.
• Perform minor masonry and plastering repairs.
• Conduct touch-up painting and wall patching.
• Inspect and maintain general building fabric elements.
• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks across all disciplines as per maintenance checklists and schedules.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and service requests, diagnosing issues and implementing effective, timely repairs.
• Ensure all maintenance work is performed safely and to quality standards.
• Inspection & Reporting:
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential maintenance issues or hazards.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, work orders, parts used, and hours spent.
• Report major issues, completed tasks, and potential risks to the supervisor.
• Safety & Compliance:
• Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and local UAE regulations (e.g., Civil Defense, municipal building codes).
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and ensure safe work practices.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of a vocational training program or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, or a related technical field, with demonstrated cross-trade competency.
• Certifications: Relevant trade certifications (e.g., electrical, plumbing) are an advantage.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience as a Multi-Skilled Technician or in a similar general maintenance role, preferably within a facilities management environment in the UAE.
• Technical Knowledge:
• Solid understanding of basic electrical circuits, safety, and troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC system components and common issues.
• Proficient in plumbing repairs and general building maintenance techniques.
• Familiarity with various hand and power tools for different trades.

Working Conditions

• Primarily on-site at various facilities (e.g., offices, residential buildings, retail spaces) across the UAE.
• Work involves exposure to various weather conditions (including extreme heat), dust, noise, and potential hazards associated with maintenance work.
• May require working in confined spaces, at heights, or in awkward positions.
• Regular working hours, but may require occasional overtime or on-call duties for emergency repairs.
• Requires lifting, carrying, and moving tools and light equipment.
