Job Summary:
The MEP Technician is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in the hotel. This includes conducting regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure the hotel s facilities are functioning smoothly and safely for both guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Systems Maintenance:
Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems to ensure guest comfort and air quality.
Monitor and maintain all water pumps, cooling towers, and other mechanical equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance checks on mechanical systems and equipment to minimize downtime.
Electrical Systems Maintenance:
Conduct regular inspections and troubleshooting of the hotel s electrical systems, including lighting, power supply, and emergency power systems.
Repair and replace faulty electrical wiring, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
Ensure all electrical systems comply with safety standards and regulations.
Plumbing Systems Maintenance:
Inspect, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including water pipes, sewage systems, and water treatment equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair leaks, clogs, and water pressure issues.
Ensure proper water heating systems are functioning and maintain water treatment equipment.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all MEP systems comply with local codes, safety standards, and hotel policies.
Assist in fire and safety drills and participate in regular safety audits of the building s systems.
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Guest and Staff Support
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience:
Proven experience (minimum 2-3 years) as an MEP Technician or in a similar role, ideally within a hospitality or hotel environment.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and equipment, with experience in troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance.
Familiarity with HVAC systems, electrical wiring, plumbing systems, and water treatment.
Certifications:
Relevant technical certifications or diplomas in MEP-related fields (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.) are preferred.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and operating machinery.
Comfortable working in various environments (mechanical rooms, roof, etc.) with proper safety protocols.
Working Hours:
Flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required.
On-call duties during emergencies or peak hotel periods.
