A global engineering service provider is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its Construction Management Team in the UAE. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, 10 years of experience in buildings and infrastructure, and maritime structural experience. Qualifications
- 10 years of professional experience working on buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Maritime structural experience is required.
- Experience in design and specification of building structures to American and British Standards.
- Familiarity with local UAE Authority design requirements.
- Proved experience in delivering projects from design through completion.
- Ability to carry out structural inspections and report on defects.

- Design using common building materials.
- Process construction documentation such as responding to RFIs.
- Review engineering designs and input on their suitability.
- Contribute to well-coordinated drawings for contractors.
- Follow QA/QC procedures during projects.

With an expanding portfolio in the UAE GHD have created an exciting opportunity for a talented Structural Engineer to join our Construction Management Team.
- Good communication skills are a must.
- A sound knowledge of Engineering Principles and ability to design using all common building materials.
- Report writing and documentation skills.
- Processing construction documentation such as responding to RFIs and commenting on engineering submittals.
- Review engineering designs and provide input on their suitability. Advise on changes if required during the engineering phase.
- Contribute to designs produced by GHD to ensure the contractor has a wellcoordinated set of drawings.
- Ensure Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures are followed during project .
- Proactively collaborate with other members of the team to deliver innovative and balanced best value solutions that meet the Clients requirements.
- Assist Project Managers in monitoring and driving progress.
- Manage BIM technicians and mentoring graduate engineers.
- Bachelors degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- 10 years of professional experience working on buildings and Infrastructure projects.
- Maritime structural experience.
- Experienced in the design and specification of building structures in steel concrete and masonry to American and British Standards.
- Be familiar with the local UAE Authority design requirements.
- Have proven experience of delivering projects from design through completion in a multidisciplinary and/or multioffice project environment.
- Experienced user of structural engineering software including CSi ETABS SAFE Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis STAAD Prokon in addition to inhouse spreadsheets.
- A solid background knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software with ability to carry out coordination and reviews through Revit.
- Can undertake structural inspections and report on material and construction defects and provide guidance for remedial repairs.
