Job Overview
The Senior Credit Analyst South-East Asia - Corporate Banking Abu Dhabi UAE will be responsible for end-to-end credit risk analysis, portfolio monitoring, and transaction structuring for corporate and trade finance clients in the APAC region. The role involves preparing detailed credit proposals, evaluating financial risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic initiatives led by the regional credit leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyze credit requests and work closely with product and coverage teams to understand transaction structures
* Prepare and present detailed credit proposals, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative assessments
* Provide structuring feedback to align lending proposals with FAB s risk appetite and group policies
* Ensure timely completion of annual reviews and credit assessments as per bank standards
* Determine appropriate risk ratings and ensure accurate documentation of rationale and supporting data
* Conduct independent due diligence, including meetings with clients and industry analysis
* Monitor credit trends and identify early warning signals within the South-East Asia portfolio
* Participate in localization of group credit policies to comply with MAS and other regional requirements
* Support internal and external audits by responding to queries and reviewing portfolio documentation
* Highlight incomplete or inconsistent credit files and escalate for correction before committee approvals
* Assist with problem credit strategy development and remedial action planning
* Lead or contribute to strategic and ad-hoc projects initiated by the Head of Credit
* Maintain clear and effective communication with internal stakeholders across functions and regions
Job Requirements
* Bachelor s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related discipline
* Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in credit analysis, with exposure to the APAC region
* Strong background in structured trade finance, corporate lending, and commodity finance
* Deep understanding of industry, counterparty, and product-related risks
* Proficient in financial modeling, credit systems, and risk rating methodologies
* Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
* Strong analytical mindset with commercial acumen and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage high-value transactions
* Language skills in Mandarin or Bahasa are an added advantage
