Job description

Job Title: Planning Engineer (Infrastructure)

Department: Project Management

Location: Dubai

Reports To: Project Manager/Operation Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Planning Engineer (Infrastructure) to join our dynamic team at AL QARO ROADS CONTRACTING LLC. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the planning and scheduling of infrastructure projects, ensuring the timely completion of tasks, optimizing resources, and collaborating closely with various stakeholders to maintain project timelines and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard tools (such as Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.) to ensure timely delivery of infrastructure projects.
  2. Resource Management: Coordinate with the project team to allocate resources efficiently, ensuring that the right resources are available at the right time.
  3. Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and alignment with project timelines and goals.
  4. Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Track project progress and performance, providing regular updates to senior management on milestones, delays, and any necessary corrective actions.
  5. Risk Management: Identify potential risks to project timelines and proactively develop mitigation strategies to address any issues that may arise.
  6. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, schedules, and any other relevant project details.
  7. Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure all project activities comply with safety standards, quality control procedures, and company policies.
  8. Change Management: Manage and incorporate changes to the project scope, schedule, and resources, ensuring that changes are documented and communicated effectively.
Qualifications & Skills:
  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling for infrastructure projects (roadworks, bridges, utilities, etc.).
  3. Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in planning software, including Primavera P6, MS Project, and other relevant tools.
  4. Knowledge: Solid understanding of project management principles, construction processes, and infrastructure-specific challenges.
  5. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  6. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  7. Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and commitment to ensuring the accuracy of project timelines and data.
  8. Team-Oriented: Ability to work well within a collaborative environment and contribute to the success of the project team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is a plus.
  2. Industry Experience: Experience working with large-scale infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and utilities.
Working Conditions:

Full-time position with occasional extended hours based on project needs. Work on site is required depending on project location and stage.
