Job description

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that housekeeping is done on a daily basis.
  • Handle all work in process in the trailer repair workshop.
  • Provide excellent pre- and post-sale service.
  • Ensure work is completed daily and within the quoted hours and delivery date, as per quotation and agreement with the client.
  • Compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Evaluate damaged trailers.
  • Build strong and sound customer relationships.
  • Liaise with clients and estimators daily to ensure proper planning.
  • Perform quality control on work throughout the repair process.
  • Inspect materials daily in liaison with stores to ensure proper material planning.
  • Maintain discipline on the floor and ensure targets are reached.
  • Evaluate the skill levels of the production team.
  • Provide additional training to the team where needed.
  • Manage labor hours daily, including overtime.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Matric qualification.
  • Well acquainted with health and safety regulations and ensure they are practiced accordingly.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trailer manufacturing and repairs.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Trade qualification (Boilermaker, Diesel Mechanic, Fitter) is an advantage.
  • Own transport.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Extensive knowledge of trailers and trailer parts.
  • Experience in business development, finding new clients, and maintaining client relations.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Team player.
  • Determined and able to persevere.
  • Energetic and proactive.
