Job Description
RCL FOODS is searching for a Warehouse Supervisor to join the Groceries Division. The role will be based in Randfontein and will report into the Warehouse Controller.
The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse, balancing responsibilities related to inventory management, staff supervision, safety compliance, process optimization, and customer service.
Minimum Requirements
- Must have BCom Logistics (or equivalent Diploma), experience in an FMCG warehouse advantageous / Grade 12 with more than 5 years’ warehouse experience (3 of which should be in a leadership position).
- Must have NQF 6 or higher qualification in Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics or an equivalent qualification with at least 5 years’ experience in a warehousing environment (2 of which should be in a leadership position).
- Working knowledge of a WMS and ERP system (Syspro and flow centric preferable).
- Working knowledge of MSOffice, intermediate level in Excel.
- Sound knowledge of warehousing and distribution.
Duties & Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Overseeing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of stock.
- Implementing inventory control measures to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Conducting regular stock audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
Supervision And Coordination
- Managing warehouse staff, as appropriate.
- Assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinating with other departments such as Production, Exports, Call Centre, SHEQ, and Sales to meet operational requirements.
Safety, Quality And Compliance
- Enforcing safety procedures and standards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and RCL company policies.
- Conducting regular safety inspections and toolbox talks for warehouse employees.
- Implementing quality control procedures to maintain product integrity and minimize stock damages.
- Handling product returns and implementing appropriate disposal or reprocessing procedures.
Optimization Of Processes
- Continuously improve warehouse operations to optimize space utilization and workflow efficiency.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and waste reduction (Best in Class opportunities).
Documentation And Reporting
- Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, and warehouse activities.
- Generating reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory losses, order fulfillment rates, and productivity.
- Providing regular updates to management on warehouse performance and operational issues.
Equipment And Maintenance
- Managing warehouse equipment and ensuring proper maintenance and repairs.
- Coordinating with maintenance staff or external vendors for equipment servicing.
- Evaluating the need for new equipment or technology to improve warehouse operations.
Customer Service And Support
- Ensuring timely and accurate order processing and fulfillment to meet customer demands.
- Handling customer inquiries or issues related to warehouse operations and logistics.
- Collaborating with customer service teams to resolve any delivery or inventory-related concerns.
Team Development
- Providing training and development opportunities for warehouse employees.
- Conducting performance evaluations and setting goals for team members.
- Fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
Adherence To Policies And Procedures
- Enforcing company policies, procedures, and regulations within the warehouse (most notably food safety and pest control).
- Implementing security measures to prevent loss or theft of inventory.
- Responding to emergencies or incidents promptly and appropriately.
